Gökhan KIYICI is a lecturer at Istanbul Commerce University, where he teaches design studios, architectural representation, design culture, and critical media literacy. His teaching practice integrates reflective methods and experimental approaches within interior architecture education.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Architectural Design Program at Istanbul Technical University. His research focuses on the transformation of architectural studio pedagogy in the 21st century, with particular attention to learning processes, contextual shifts, digitalization, and social change. He previously studied at Politecnico di Milano as part of the Erasmus Exchange Program, which enriched his understanding of European design education and culture. His broader academic interests include design theory, media and communication in architecture, and the socio-cultural dynamics of design education.
He holds a double major in Architecture and Interior Architecture from Istanbul Technical University, where he also completed his M.Arch with a thesis titled “Architectural Drawing as a Medium of a Generative Dialogue.”
Between 2012 and 2015, he worked on various architectural, urban, and interior design projects at Motto TPU (now EOX) in Istanbul, contributing to multidisciplinary collaborations in practice before transitioning into academia.
