Abstract

ABSTRACT

Increasing consumption in the textile industry leads to uncontrolled waste generation and sustainability plays an important role in reducing this problem. Methods such as recycling and upcycling offer the opportunity to re-evaluate waste. Embroidery art contributes to this transformation by decorating textile surfaces with traditional and modern techniques. In this study, modern embroidery techniques were applied on waste fabrics inspired by nature and different products were designed. The aim of these designs is to raise awareness on environmental protection, efficient use of resources and sustainable design by using embroidery.
