Özet

Power loss of various electrical steels energised by PWM voltage excitation was measured and compared with that under sinusoidal excitation by use of an Epstein tester. The results indicate that total power loss under PWM excitation is the larger. During measurements flux densities varied from 0.5 to 1.7 T and maximum and minimum loss increases occurred at 1.7 and 0.5 T, respectively. The PWM parameters such as the switching frequency and modulation depth were maintained constant at 1.5 kHz and 0.7, respectively. It is assumed that the mechanism of loss increase can be attributed to frequency dependent losses as well as to the flux waveform. © 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
