İktisadi faaliyetlerin mevcut durumu ve gelecekte ne yönde hareket edecekleri hakkındaki beklentiler, karar alıcılar ve piyasa aktörleri tarafından yakından takip edilmektedir. Bu çalışma İstanbul Ticaret Odası tarafından 2014 yılı nisan ayından bu yana açıklanan Ticari Faaliyet Beklenti Endeksi (TFE) verilerinin analizine dayanmaktadır. Analizlerde, Ticari Faaliyet Beklenti Endeksi olarak hesaplanan genel endeks ve hizmet, ticaret ve üretim olmak üzere üç alt sektör için cari ay endeks değeri, bir ay ve üç ay sonrası için hesaplanan beklenti endeksi değerleri kullanılmaktadır. TFE raporunda hesaplanan 12 bileşik endeks açıklanmaya başlandığı dönemden itibaren (2014:4 - 2017:8) incelemeye tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışmada, bir ay ve üç ay sonrası için oluşan beklentilerin cari ay endeks değerinden nasıl etkilendiği ve meydana gelen bir şokun tekrar dengeye gelme süreleri incelenmiştir.
Policy makers and business strategists closely follow current economic situation and how the economic conditions will evolve in the near future. Business tendency surveys serve as useful tools in this respect. This article assesses the Commercial Activity Expectation Index, reported by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce since February, 2014. The index presents values for a given month, and expectations about one and three months forward. Data used in the study consists of index values for a general index and index values for three sub-sectors; namely, the Commercial Activity Index for the service sector, for the commercial sector and for the production sector. Utilizing the data of the index, the study analyzes how the present economic situation affects one month and three months forward expectations.
