Özet

In the present study, an analytical solution for surface temperature during laser non-conduction limited heating is presented. An exponential time varying pulse is employed in the analysis. The influence of pulse parameter (β′) and laser pulse intensity (Io) on the initiation and ending times of evaporation is investigated. It is found that the rate of surface temperature rise is high in the early heating period due to a considerably high internal energy gain of the substrate material. The time corresponding to the initiation of evaporation decreases with reducing β′ and increasing Io. Moreover, opposite is true for time corresponding to the ending of evaporation. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd.
