A new technique is suggested to produce the observability Gramian matrix (OGM) by utilizing the Taylor truncated polynomial vector (TTPV) and Taylor operational matrix of integration (TOMI) in the time interval [0, 1] for linear time varying systems. The subtle points of this algorithm are; (a) it does not integrate the observability integral relation, (b) it constructs state space relation in terms of the state matrix, the output matrix of the original linear time-varying system, and its OGM as state variable, (c) it solves the state space relation constructed in (b) by using TTPV and TOMI, thus the OGM is identified (each element of observability matrix is a Taylor truncated polynomial with respect to time variable). Numerical examples are given to illustrate the improvements achieved by this novel algorithm.
