Özet

Organizations such as the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report that new coal-fired power plants should not be approved and existing ones should be abandoned by 2030. The top priority agenda items of the global energy agenda are green energy transformation and zero carbon target, the global virus epidemic (pandemic) of Kovid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War, depending on the main and after effects, energy supply security is at the top of the agenda today. It is seen that coal-fired power plants will maintain their place in the energy composition of the world. It is important to perform bibliometric analysis in order to examine the general situation of coal-fired power plants, to collect and categorize existing information, and to identify gaps.

Today, scientific knowledge is increasing exponentially. Researchers need to look at more research and studies than in the past. It has become difficult for researchers to follow developments with traditional literature searches. In this sense, bibliometric analysis provides important benefits for researchers to see the whole research field. Bibliometric analysis is an important tool in terms of measuring different scientific items and outputs such as studies authors, keywords, journals, institutions and countries in the research field of coal power plants and measuring the performance of coal power plants.Bibliometric analysis is macro-focused and reveals the dynamics and structure of the study area. Although the number of studies in the field of bibliometrics in our country has increased, it is seen that bibliometric analyzes in our country are not sufficient when compared with the international literature. Citation analysis provides information about the impact of the studies. With citation analysis, the most influential studies, authors, journals, institutions and countries in

the field of coal power plants can be quickly determined before reading and researching. The most basic determinant of bibliometric research is the quality of the data representing the relevant literature. It is important to choose therelevant database correctly and to determine the search criteria. There are manydatabases that provide datasets for bibliometric research. Web of science (WoS)is the world’s oldest and most widely used database.
