Özet

The design of modern office spaces, particularly the impact of colors on the psychological and physiological states of employees, is a complex issue requiring an interdisciplinary approach. As individuals increasingly spend significant portions of their work lives in office environments, the importance of these spaces' design in influencing employee productivity, motivation, and overall well-being has grown considerably. In this context, the effects of colors on shaping spatial perception and individuals' psychological states hold critical significance in office design. This study systematically addresses the complex effects of colors on human perception, drawing upon a literature review and the analysis of various office spaces. Detailed analyses of existing color usage in office environments were conducted, and based on these analyses, recommendations for spatial design were developed. The research examined the effects of colors on employee concentration, stress levels, motivation, and even creativity. The findings indicate that appropriate color usage enhances the spatial experience and increases employee satisfaction. Specifically, it was determined that calming blue and green tones increase concentration, while warm yellow and orange tones stimulate creativity. Furthermore, excessively bright and contrasting colors were found to potentially increase stress levels and negatively impact employee productivity. This study aims to provide practical and scientifically grounded guidance for office designers and managers regarding color selection. It emphasizes the necessity of choosing colors appropriate to the space's function, the demographic and psychographic characteristics of employees, and the corporate identity. Additionally, it is suggested that the effects of colors on spatial perception should be evaluated in conjunction with other design elements such as lighting and furniture. Future research should investigate the long-term effects of colors on office workers and how cultural differences influence color preferences.
