Detection of targets on water is a requirement needed in many applications. The widespread use of unmanned underwater vehicles has increased the need for this area. The aim of this study is to dynamically determine the positions of targets on the water surface for floating vehicles using a monocular vision application. Monocular vision, unlike stereo vision, is the observation principle performed using only one camera. The aim of the study is to determine the positions of targets whose approximate height relative to sea level is negligible. The system consists of an observer (camera) and an observation window. Thanks to the use of the observation window, the positions of the camera and the observation window are fixed relative to each other and the camera can only process with height information
