Türkiyede okul öncesi eğitimin başlangıcı II. Meşrutiyetin ilk yıllarına dayanır. Budönemde yürütülen ilk çalışmalar ve uygulamalar, çağdaş okul öncesi eğitim anlayışı ileönemli benzerlikler gösterir. Bu alanda çalışma ve uygulamalarıyla Kazım Nami (Duru)öncü isim olmuştur. Onun çalışmaları; okul açmak, öğretmen yetiştirmek, programgeliştirmek, öğretmenler için kılav uz kitap hazırlamak gibi okul öncesi eğitimi bütünyönleriyle kapsayıcı niteliktedir. Araştırmada, Türkiyede okul öncesi eğitimin doğuşu veilk uygulamalar, Durunun eğitimci kişiliği ve anaokulu öğretmenleri için 1915tehazırladığı Çocuk Bahçesi Rehberi adlı kılavuz kitabı üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir.Kılavuz kitapta konu ve etkinliklere yer veriliş tarzı, yapılandırmacı eğitim anlayışınınve eğitimde drama uygulamalarının ilk örneklerini sunması da ilgi çekicidir.
The beginning of preschool ed ucation in Turkey is based on the early years of the SecondConstitution period. In this period, the first studies and applications show importantsimilarities with the contemporary approach to preschool education. Kazim Nami s(Duru) study and practice in this area have been a pioneer name. His works establish toopen schools, train teachers, develop programs and prepare guide books for all theteachers. Briefly, his studies cover all the aspects of preschool education. In the study, theemergence and the first applications of preschool education in Turkey has been evaluatedon Duru's "Çocuk Bahçesi Rehberi" (Children's Playground Guide) which is a guide bookprepared in 1915 for kindergarten teachers and his own educationalist personality. Thestyle of presentation topics and activities in the guide book reflects the first examples of"constructivist learning and "drama" applications.
