Özet

Phase-sensitive Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (Φ-OTDR) is commonly used for distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) applications which monitors phase shifts along fiber optic cables caused by vibration, strain, and temperature changes. Due to these monitoring capabilities, Φ-OTDR can be used for security applications, structural health monitoring (SHM), and environmental sensing. However, real-time data processing for Φ-OTDR continues to be demanding. Software-based approaches often struggle due to the required processing power. This problem limits their effectiveness in real-time use. In this paper, we propose a field programmable gate arrays (FPGA)-based approach to processing Φ-OTDR data in real-time. Our system can process large amounts of data without causing a significant amount of lag so that it can be used for time-critical applications. The system uses a noise suppression technique that effectively reduces noise without distorting the signal, making detecting small changes along the fiber optic cable easier. This paper introduces a real-time FPGA-based Φ-OTDR signal processing system that integrates adaptive matched filter (AMF) technique to deliver improved performance and scalability for industrial and security applications.
