Proje Özeti
The United Nations' sustainable development goals (SDGs), specifically “Climate Action (13)” and “Life on Land (15)”, emphasize continuous ecosystem monitoring and intervention to potential risks. However, challenging physical conditions, such as those found in rainforests, necessitate leveraging technology alongside human efforts. Robotic and automation system (RAS) applications, particularly unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), offer mobility advantages in inaccessible regions where ground transportation is impractical, making them crucial for ecological research [1].
This project aims to develop a UAV-based aerial robot tailored for areas inaccessible by land transportation or dangerous for humans. The system will autonomously scan particular trees to diagnose diseases or detect parasites. Following this step, utilizing a unique dosage system, necessary treatments will be applied to tree via a syringe. Such autonomous monitoring and treatment method ensures ecosystem sustainability by promptly addressing threats to forest health, preventing disease spread, and preserving biodiversity. This innovative approach not only overcomes logistical challenges but also enhances ecosystem management efficiency. By minimizing human intervention in out of reach and hazardous environments, the project optimizes resource use and reduces risks associated with fieldwork. Moreover, integrating advanced technology into conservation practices aligns with global sustainability
