Abstract:Turkish textile and apparel industry is one of the leading segments of Turkish economy and one of the largest source of the largest source of foreign exchange earnings for Turkey. The sector has slightly more than 13 percent of export earnings. Turkish apparel industry has increased the capacity and able to use high technology on value chain for 30 years. The sector is effested negatively by the global financial crisis of 2008 which is a major one. For all that, the sector has a possibilities to improve competitive power by having new product and marketing strategies. By all this study, it is offered an alternative. The core of the system is based on eleminating non-value added and procedure steps and pull system will be placed. Value stream management is a technique to see the company from holistic view and realize to improve the flow. In this study, value stream management is illustrated on a medium-sized enterprises and has been put forward proposal to optimize the process. The Lean Manufacturing System, which started to be implemented at Toyota Motor Company, has spread all over the world from here. It is based on the elimination of all processes that do not add value to the base and the placement of the towing system. Turkish textile sector, the economy of the Republic of Turkey, which is one of the leading industry leader and the largest export returns. The sector accounts for 15.73% of total export revenues. Despite the crises and influences, the textile and garment industry has been following new developments and marketing strategies in a timely manner, and has succeeded in utilizing the blessings of technology to improve its competitive power. This study is one of the most established firms in the Turkish textile industry and it is a special work because it is the biggest producer company in Europe sector and it is among the biggest. In the application section of the thesis, firstly the current situation analyzes were made, then data analysis was done and the production value flow maps were designed for the future situation and improvement studies were made to provide suggestions to optimize the process and to contribute to the sector and literature.
