Abstract:In today's world, where global efforts toward environmental sustainability are increasingly emphasized, the fashion industry is also undergoing transformations aimed at reducing its negative environmental impact through digitalization. This study examines how digital fashion reshapes production, design, consumption, and marketing processes through artificial intelligence and metaverse technologies, and explores the contributions of this transformation to sustainability. AI-supported production systems optimize resource use through demanddriven and data-based planning processes, while metaverse-based digital experiences reduce physical production, thereby decreasing carbon footprints. Digital collections powered by NFT technologies enable ownership and reuse of products, facilitating alignment with the circular economy. Based on a literature review, the study analyzes the environmental impacts of digital fashion, the contribution of digital products to waste and carbon emissions, the sustainable potential of virtual fashion shows, and the metaverse integration of luxury fashion brands. The findings reveal that digital fashion represents not only an aesthetic and technological transformation but also offers new opportunities in terms of sustainability, resource efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
