Abstract:With the digitization, telecommunication and computer technology converged with television broadcasting systems and television sets, it became possible to transmit television broadcasts over the internet as the result of increase of internet bandwidth. Traditional broadcasting systems; Satellite, and terrestrial and cable broadcasting systems, Internet-based TV systems focus on more interactive media such as media, IP TV, Internet TV, Over-The-Top content, On-demand or streaming. Internet-based broadcasting systems and internet-connected TV sets have played a key role in the transformation of broadcasting habits and the understanding of broadcasting in the direction of the technological possibilities offered. Nowadays, program producers can offer their audience the opportunity to interact, control and personalize content and broadcasting differently from other broadcasting systems through internet based broadcasting systems. In addition, program producers can offer an interactive and participatory television viewing experience for users by taking advantage of the unique features of the internet environment and the possibilities of social media. In this context, it is necessary to consider the concept of Social TV. '' Social TV '' is a concept that emerges as a result of social media and television convergence. Social TV 'is extremely important in terms of the opportunities that the publisher and the viewer offer. In our research, what the social TV and second screen concepts cover and how these applications are used and the usage areas and features of some social TV applications on the market have been examined through literature review of qualitative research methods.
