Abstract:Nowadays, international firms are employing several marketing strategies to launch their products in foreign markets. Not only the quality of the product but also every stage of its journey to consumer markets is being critical research subject for foreign trade studies from global competition perspective. International companies which are producing goods and services, are paying more attention on forwarding their products to global markets in a fast and reliable way. In order to compete in global markets, firms recognised the need to build appropriate infrastructure to operate. Logistics infrastructure is one of the key indicators of a country in terms of reflecting its foreign trade policy. So, transportation is playing a critical role on this and air cargo transportation, as a sub system, is used as a “strategic tool” in global trade competition. Logistics Performance Index, on the other hand, is an interactive tool created for countries to measure their performances along the logistics operations. In this study, it is assumed that improvement in logistics performance index is relatively due to increased use of airfreight transportation.
