Abstract:In Iraq, most of the companies use the Uniform Accounting System in their accounting operations. While determining their profits, they get financial one through commercial profits and they calculate payable company income tax by the financial profit. During this calculation, the permanent differences caused by tax-exempt revenue and expenses not accepted legally are taken into account but the resulting tax effect of temporary differences in accordance with the principle of periodicity are not taken into account. IAS 12, one of the most comprehensive IFRS standards, Accounting for the income taxes which are calculated on the earnings of the corporation is held and it is given to the provisions relating to deferred tax. According to these standards, the situations emerged between tax laws and accounting standards and make up temporary differences are to reveal the true rue financial status of the business by reflecting as deferred tax liability and tax receivables to financial statements. The aim of this research is to analyze the differences between international accounting standards and Iraq tax laws in order to explain the concept of deferred taxes that enable to display these differences in the financial statements and to investigate the effect of deferred tax on financial ratios.
