Abstract:The Internal Processing Regime (IPR) is an economically efficient customs clearance system that allows enterprises in the manufacturing sector to procure raw materials from world market prices in order to increase competitive power, expand their markets and increase product diversity in international markets. This study is designed to examine the advantages, disadvantages and criticized aspects of IPR procedures impact in Turkey and IPR’s place in Turkey’s foreign trade activities. For this purpose, the effect of IPR’s on foreign trade of Turkey was mentioned by examining total imports, export data, total exports and imports share in IPR applications especially years between 2010 and 2015. In the next stage, the effect of the inward processing regime by the sector, the effects of international competition, and the effects of exports on import dependency were examined. The findings show that IPR has a positive impact on exports to Turkey and on full utilization of firms' idle capacities.
