Abstract:

In recent years, the retail sector in Turkey is developed by the help of the investments made by foreign companies and day by day the competitive environment of this sector is rapidly increasing. Companies should follow optimal inventory policies to be succesful and to be able to survive in such an environment. The aim of this thesis is to develop optimal inventory policies, which minimise the carrying costs, while eliminating the risk of shortage costs in the uncertain demand environment of retail sector.In the scope of this thesis study, specific products from film industry which are classified as good films and bad films are examined with one of the stochastic inventory models ? (s,S) inventory model. After this, the results are compared with the current situations and the developements are shown in result.Keywords: Inventory Control Models, Retailing, Style Goods
