Abstract:

Businesses receive support from various internal systems in order to continue their activities. One of these systems is the concept of corporate governance. Corporate governance offers versatile benefits and opportunities to businesses due to its unique components. With the concept of corporate governance, transparent, accountable, fair and responsible businesses are becoming widespread. While corporate governance practices in Turkey are primarily applied in capital markets and related organizations, they have gradually moved away from this scope to a wider area. Within the scope of the study, the concept of corporate governance was discussed in detail, especially for Turkish paper packaging companies, and the perception of the sector on the subject was examined. Specifically, in-depth interviews were conducted with the senior executives of 9 sectoral companies operating in Turkey. In this context, the same structured questions were submitted to the whole sample and their opinions on the subject were requested in detail. As a result of the study, a general perception measurement was made for the whole sector and it is thought that it will inspire the following studies.
