Abstract:Civil society, recognized as a source of aid and advocacy of civil rights, has become a necessary participant in the development of economic, public and social infrastructure necessary for a quality life. Nevertheless, civil society organizations are the forefront of the economy as an indispensable sector. As in most countries of the world, Malaysia has also contributed to the development of non-governmental organizations in general and of foreign trade in particular. Research-based findings on the Malaysian economy confirm that the civil society is an important player in supporting the identification of business areas through interactive platforms such as conferences, workshops and seminars. In this study, which demonstrates that the role of civil society is necessary in achieving economic development, the role of non-governmental organizations in the development of foreign trade is addressed through the Malaysian case. In the study a face to face interview has been done with three non-govermental organizations workers about the Turkey-Malaysia trade. According to the responses of the participants, civil society organizations are effective in terms of market entry and adoption in the market. For this reason the number and the effectiveness of the nongovermental organizations should be raised for the development o the Turkey-Malaysian trade. Another result of the study showed that the non-govermental organizations has a power to change the opinions of the society and the organizations pozitively about the Turkish firms.
