Abstract:

The process which was defined as Arab Spring has been started with protests and ended up with civil war in some countries throughout Middle East, and then lately becoming a chaotic blizzard instead of an Arab spring. Arab spring started with the desperate just graduated Muhammed Buzizi killing himself as a way to protest for the corruption in the Tunisian police and continued in other countries of the region giving as a result some changes of regimes and borders. During 2011 in Syria the protest that started asking for a democratic government turned into a civil war. Probably during the Arab Spring the biggest damage has been the Syrian state and the society. In Turkey, according with the Immigration Bureau, there is 3,2 millions of Syrian refugees of which just %8 live in refugee camps. The majority of the refugees survive with their own efforts out of the camps, either working in different jobs or trying to rule their own business. This essay’s aim is to study how the Syrian asylum seeker open a business in the area of Laleli and Beyazıt (Istanbul). This composition is trying to determinate, with the help of the literature revision, how is the legal position, rights and demographic structure of the Syrian citizens in Turkey. For that purpose after the description of how is the process to open a business in the Laleli and Beyazit economic area, we will keep on the analysis with the help of Bourdieu’s terms of habitus, field and capital.
